I’m Helen, a Surrey family photographer. I absolutely love photographing families outdoors, capturing connection and laughter. My aim is to make your experience relaxed and fun, freezing memories you and your children can look back on forever.

Over the phone or email, we’ll plan your family photography session together, discussing dates and possible locations, in Surrey or beyond. Before your photography session, I’ll send you a preparation guide filled with helpful tips, as well as a questionnaire to find out a little more about your family.

I’ll be in touch regularly before we meet, keeping an eye on the weather for the day and answering any questions you may have.

My mission is to make sure you ALL actually enjoy your family photography session! (It is possible, honestly!) We will play lots of games to relax the children and I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to make sure we get natural smiles and giggles. There will be no awkward poses, I promise! I want you to leave your photography session feeling as though you’ve had a wonderful time connecting with your family. Sessions last around an hour, although there is no time limit. We’ll have plenty time to break for drinks and snacks.

Two weeks after we meet, I will email to let you know your online gallery slideshow is ready to view. You will then be able to choose which collection of digital images you would like to purchase. Prints and beautiful products of your chosen images are also available to order at this point. I am on hand to help at any time during your Surrey family photographer experience and love helping clients choose products that will look stunning in their homes.

From the moment you first get in contact with me, to when I deliver your chosen photographs and products, I will guide you through every aspect of your Surrey family photographer experience. I want the whole experience to be as enjoyable, relaxing and memorable for you all as possible. I will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and offer support whenever you need it.

Session Fee

The cost of my photography sessions is £125 on weekdays and £155 at the weekend and during school holidays.

Below is a guide as to what is included in your session fee:

Initial consultation, either by phone or email, to discuss locations (in Surrey or beyond) and your hopes for your session.
Preparation guide including helpful tips and advice on what to wear.
Pre-shoot questionnaire to help me get to know your family a little before our session.
Relaxed family photography session for your immediate family, lasting approximately one hour, at home or on location. An extra fee applies for locations more than 45 minutes from Walton-on-Thames
Time spent selecting and editing the most beautiful images from your session.
Private online viewing gallery of at least 35 images, available to view before selecting your choices.

Digital Photographs

Digital file collections, prints and other beautiful products can then be purchased separately after viewing your gallery.

BEAUTIFUL

We had such a wonderful family photoshoot with Helen and I can’t recommend her highly enough. My eldest son isn’t a fan of having his photo taken but Helen had some fun games for the boys to play and they loved it so much they wanted to do it again the next day! YOUR QUESTIONS

What should be wear for our photos?

This is the question I’m asked most often! Taking some time to plan your outfits makes such a difference to your final images. But don’t worry, I’m here to help! Before your session, I’ll send through a preparation guide filled with ideas for planning outfits that will look amazing in your photos. I’m also on hand if you want to get in touch to talk through your ideas.

What if it rains on the day of our session?

In the week before we meet, I’ll keep a close eye on the weather forecast. The day before your session, I’ll be in touch with a final weather update. If it’s looking like rain, we’ll reschedule for a date that works for you.

My children will never sit still and smile. Will we end up with any lovely photos?

They absolutely don’t need to sit still and smile! I never expect children to pose. It’s my job to make sure they’re having so much fun that we end up with beautiful, natural smiles and giggles.

We’ll play games, have races… and can stop for breaks or snacks whenever we need to. I have years of experience, not only as a Surrey family photographer but also as a primary school teacher. This experience helps to make sure we always end up with beautiful photos of your children!

My child can take a while to warm up to new people. Is this going to work?

As a mum to a little one who can be super reserved, I get it. This is why a relaxed session without too many posed shots can work so well. We’ll take our time and I’ll let them interact just with you initially if that helps them. I often find that the children who are feeling very shy initially, end up not wanting to leave!
