A calm, relaxed branding session with Total Health Physiotherapy
This branding session with Nicky from Total Health Physiotherapy was all about showing how her work feels, not just what it looks like.
Nicky is a women’s health physiotherapist based in Hersham, Surrey, and her approach is deeply holistic. She works with the whole person, paying close attention to how someone feels emotionally and mentally as well as physically. From the very start, it was important that her photography reflected that calm, supportive way of working.

Creating space for people to feel at ease
Many of the images from this session focus on connection. Conversations, gentle hands-on treatment, moments of reassurance and quiet focus. These are the parts of a physiotherapy appointment that help people feel safe and understood, and they matter just as much as the technical expertise.
Before the session, Nicky spent time thinking about how she wanted her clients to feel when they landed on her website or Instagram. Reassured. Listened to. In capable hands. That guided every decision we made on the day, from the pace of the session to the way I directed people in front of the camera.
My role as a branding photographer is not to force moments, but to create an environment where natural interactions can unfold. That is especially important when photographing healthcare professionals, where trust and empathy are central to the work they do.

A thoughtful start with hair and make up
Nicky chose to have her hair and make up done professionally before the shoot, which helped her feel confident and well prepared without looking overly styled. It meant she could start the session relaxed, knowing that part had already been taken care of, and focus fully on her clients and her work.
Although it’s not something that feels right for everyone, professional hair and make up can be a really supportive part of a branding session, particularly for women who are used to putting others first. It is not about changing how you look, but about feeling like yourself on a good day.

Photographing real interactions, not poses
During this physiotherapist photography session in Surrey, Nicky worked with real clients as models. This allowed us to photograph genuine interactions rather than staged scenarios.
The images show conversation, explanation, movement and care. Hands demonstrating exercises. A client lying on the treatment table with a sense of ease. Quiet moments where someone feels held and supported. These details help tell the story of how Nicky works and what it feels like to be in her clinic.
Everything was photographed slowly and calmly, with plenty of space for people to pause, ask questions and settle into what they were doing. That pace is reflected in the final images.

A branding session that began with values
What stood out most during this session was how clearly Nicky’s values showed through. Her work is grounded, compassionate and thoughtful, and the photographs needed to reflect that without feeling forced or overly polished.
This is the heart of good branding photography. It is not about creating a version of yourself that looks impressive, but about showing who you really are in a way that feels honest and aligned.
As a photographer based in Surrey, I work with many women in health and wellbeing who want images that feel human and approachable. Sessions like this one are a reminder that the most powerful images often come from slowing down and letting people be themselves.

Looking ahead
These photographs are now being used across Nicky’s website, helping future clients get a sense of her approach before they ever step through the door. For many people, that first impression can make a real difference in whether they feel confident reaching out for support.
If you are a healthcare professional looking for a physiotherapist photography session in Surrey, or you want branding images that reflect how you work rather than just what you do, I would love to talk. You are very welcome to get in touch to ask questions or chat about what might work for your business.
