Remember when your first baby was born? How many photos did you take? I remember when Alice was tiny, I took photos of every moment, every little expression, every tiny milestone. I couldn’t bear to delete a single photo – even of identical images! And what about the photos you take now? I’m guessing it’s not a photo every second anymore. I’m a family photographer, based in Surrey, but I definitely take less photos of my own two than I did in those early days (probably a good thing – there’s not an iPhone out there with enough storage!).
We have a family photo session booked for two weeks time as I want to capture some gorgeous images of all of us before they grow even bigger. But will this be our last one? Definitely not! I want capture every age, every stage. And it’s not just for me. Alice and Edward absolutely love looking back at photos of us all. I don’t want them to miss out on that as they grow up.
I’ve spent the last few weeks photographing children of all different ages… squishy babies with little gummy smiles and cheeky toddlers with their own very strong ideas! 4 year olds who were able to tell me every dino fact there is and 10 year olds keen to learn the best light to take photos in!
Whatever stage you’re at now, in a few year’s time, you’ll look back at this age and won’t be able to believe how young they were. You’ll be onto a new stage which will be amazing but different again. Don’t leave photos for the milestones.
